Crews Battle Working Dwelling fire.

By Firefighter Mike Forstoffer Jr
January 14, 2010

At 12:57 hours the tones were dropped for a dwelling fire in Peach Bottom Twp. Tanker 54-1 was due on the assignment. Units from 57 were getting information for a fully involved fire. Engine 57-3 went on location and upgraded this to a working structure fire. Engine 54-2 was now due for the working structure fire dispatch. Engine 54-3 (LT. Rorke) responded with a crew of six. Once units arrived on scene the tanker shuttled water and the crew from the engine went to division one to pull some ceilings. Once inside we were meet with smoke and fire and picked up a line and started making a knock on the fire the crew found. EVAC tones were then sounded when the 2nd floor collapsed. The crews pulled out and went to exterior operations working the blitz fire. The fire was finally brought under control. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating this fire. Crews did an excellent job at working together and everyone went home safely! A special thanks to station 45 for standing by at station 54.
