On Wednesday, December 30th crews were dispatched to 8952 Deer Lane for a structure fire. C54 (Walker) responded and was advised that the caller is reporting smoke coming from a "detached" garage, C54 requested (2) additional tankers on the box. E54-3 and C54 arrived and found "heavy" smoke coming from a 1 1/2 story garage with C54 taking Command 54 and upgraded the assignment to "working" fire. Crews stretched (2) 2" attack lines off E54-3 to Side A. Crews arrived on E54-2 and initiated an interior attack on Division 2, while crews did horizontal ventilation on Side A. Crews did an excellent job and had the fire knocked in 20 minutes. There were no injuries during this incident. Command 54 notified PSP Fire Marshal McKenna who will be investigating the cause. The total damage estimate is $12,000. Command 54 wants to thank all companies involved for a job well done!
